Tending the Land for Fire Resilience: An Interactive In-Person Workshop

What does it look like to care for the land in ways that support fire resilience? 

Join Resilient Landscape Coalition and Safer West County for a FREE, hands-on, place-based workshop exploring how thoughtful land stewardship can help communities live more safely with wildfire.

We’ll begin indoors to be introduced to Tending the Land for Fire Resilience in Sonoma County–an online guide with resources to help landowners and community members make informed decisions about caring for their landscapes.

Then we will head outdoors at the Hampton Fire Road project site above Camp Meeker, where we’ll walk the landscape, learn from the work that has been done, and explore practical approaches to tending wildland in fire-prone areas.

There will be plenty of time for questions, discussion, and connecting what we see in the field with tools you can use on your own land.

Park at Anderson Hall (street parking, carpool if possible). We will carpool to the hike.

Your speakers: Eric Schoohs and Caitlin Cornwall of Sonoma Ecology Center, and members of the Resilient Landscapes Coalition. Eric and Caitlin bring years of experience in land stewardship and environmental education and served as lead editors of the Tending the Land website.
